At 43 years of age, Carlos Vicens hails from Spain and has held the position of assistant coach under both Pep Guardiola and Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City. Since October, he has been without a job. His previous tenure was marked by a series of setbacks, including defeats against Vitoria Setubal (1-2), Copenhagen (0-3), and Sporting Portugal (1-3), as well as a goalless draw against Santa Clara. Following these results, he was dismissed by his former club, SC Braga. Nonetheless, prior to his dismissal, Vicens had led the Portuguese outfit to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
