MacMahon commented, "The Timberwolves boast a talented roster poised for a deep playoff run, while the Pistons were the top seed in the Eastern Conference last season, both representing formidable teams. However, the Heat suffered devastating losses against both of these sides at home. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo averaging 35.5 points per game over the two games, the Heat have shown themselves to be a team with severely flawed defense. Although the season is still in its early stages and the sample size is quite limited, their current defensive efficiency has plummeted to the third-worst in the league."
